Mike's Bike Tour, Munich
My first experience with Mike's Bike Tours was back in September of 2010 when I took a tour with the ladies at my children's school. Since then I've recommended it to all guests who come to Munich for the first time. As a matter of fact, it has become the thing we recommend friends do the day they arrive. The exercise and sun help fight jet lag keeping them up just a bit longer so they can sleep through the night.
It's fun, informative and lunch in the English Garten is a real treat. The tour guides stick to a script, however they do throw in a few jokes here and there that you may not find appropriate. If you aren't up for a guided tour of the city, they also rent bikes which I have also done. Easy and inexpensive.

Tip: Reservations are not required. Meeting point for tours is NOT at the store location. It's under the tower of the Old Town Hall building at the east end of Marienplatz and Tal. Here you will receive an into to the city before heading over to the bike shop to pick up bikes.

I joined the ladies from the school for a guided bike ride through the city. Munich was founded by monks almost 1000 years ago and is rich in history. From a ruling dynasty of 700 years to Hitler and WW2, this place has a lot of stories to tell. There are churches on every corner with art that is absolutely incredible. There are buildings that bare the scars of bombing in the 1940’s and contemporary parks that attract the young and old.
I think every city has its own "rub this for for wealth and prosperity," Munich is no different.
