Covered Wagon Cookout
I blogged very little over the last 8 weeks because I wanted to be present with my family and focused on fostering those precious relationships. As an expat we give up close (in proximity) relationships--we aren't able to attend birthday parties and special events like we might normally if we lived in the same city or state and so summers become a time of strengthening those most important ties.
With this in mind, a number of my siblings along with their children gathered to our parent's home in Wyoming where we enjoyed a cousins reunion. We drove up to Jackson Hole for two days of Teton beauty and while there enjoyed a covered wagon cookout. As you can see from the photos we rode in wagons up to the dinner site where we were entertained with a variety show and a plentiful dutch oven bar-b-q. The kids loved petting the horses, the "cowboys vs indians" shootout and the chance to drive the wagons. It was a fun evening for all.
