Olympia Recommendations

From Delphi we enjoyed a scenic drive along the coast line toward the Gulf of Corinth, crossing the new Rio-Antirrio Bridge into the Peloponnese.  The GPS kept directing us towards the mountains, but we had been counseled to stay on the main highway if we wanted to avoid the steep cliffs and winding switchbacks.  The trip took us about 3.5 hours.

We followed a Rick Steves' recommendation and stayed just outside of Olympia in a small village called Pissa at the Bacchus Taverna.  We ate dinner in the restaurant and breakfast was included in our room rate.  Everything about the Bacchus was great.  Our family suite was clean, modern, comfortable and came equipped with a kitchen.

Dinner was delicious (sorry no photos).  Our server was very patient as he gave us recommendations--I ordered the oven baked lamb which was fabulously tender.  We ate Greek Salad with every meal and I found that just about restaurant serves a different tasting feta.  I don't know what effects the flavor, but  I do not like strong feta which seemed to be more common.  Bob on the other hand, liked it all.
