Munich Christmas Markets
Christmas time in Germany is simply magical. Markets selling everything from handmade, one of a kind finds, to blown glass ornaments, to Smokers, and Nutcrackers dot the city. Gluhwein is readily available to warm frozen fingers and toes and you can always count on at least one vendor selling fresh nuts.
The Christmas Markets provide the perfect backdrop for taking photos, so last Tuesday I headed out with a group of ladies to practice our photography skills. I switched to manual mode and the following photos are the result. For more information on the Munich markets click here. A few of the more popular locations include Münchener Freiheit, the Residenz, Odeonsplatz, Marianplatz, the English Garden, and the Medieval Market.
Beautiful photos. Thank you for the memories. I am German living in the US since 2011 and Christmas markets are one of the few things that I do miss. There is just nothing quite like it here.
ReplyDeleteI've yet to make to the Christmas markets in Germany but long to go there one day, especially after seeing your pictures. Thanks for popping by my blog and my post about paris at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and coming to see the Christmas markets is something that has been on my mind for several years. Was thinking of it for this coming year, however, we are going on a Viking cruise soon in Germany, so that will probably be my only event for this year, but will keep this in mind. Also looks like a very fun photography opportunity. Lovely photos
