Munich Monday--Cafe Glockenspiel

The best thing about the Glockenspiel Cafe is its view.  Don't get me wrong, the food is quite good, as a matter of fact, every dish I saw looked very appetizing, but sitting eye level with the Rathaus glockenspiel is the reason to chose this restaurant over others.  We did not have lunch reservations, but we had no problem getting a table. However, if you want to sit right against the windows you should call ahead as all these were either taken or reserved.

Transportation: Practically every U-bahn and S-bahn line travel through Marianplatz
Cost: €15 for entree and water
Service was prompt and our server actually returned a few times to make sure everything was fine.  We did not have time for dessert, but they had a lovely looking selection of cakes and tortes to choose from.
I was able to capture this photo of the tower through the window.  My friend assured me it is even more romantic in the glow of the evening lights.
