July 4th in Small Town America
I love July 4th-- the fireworks, the food, the parties and fun! July 4th in my parent's small town is quintessentially American! The morning started with a pancake breakfast served by the local Fire Department followed by a short presentation including patriotic music and a "police dog" demonstration. Of the three buildings holding flags, only the library is still open, the bar and old mercantile store closed long ago.
Off to the border to buy FIREWORKS!
This year we were lucky, there were no fire restrictions, so we lit the night sky with magic! Dad spent $$$ on fireworks and boy did he give us a show, thanks grandpa!
