One Short Day In Prague
Prague is one of my favorite cities in all of Europe! Our short trip last weekend solidified that for me. Good shopping, good food and great architecture. Plus, they've got an interesting, still changing social and political landscape. My mother in law was visiting and wanted to see a particular "pilgrimage" church in Prague, so we made a quick trip of it.

Down Town Suites Prague

We rented the penthouse apartment and were really pleased. The apartment was immaculate and spacious. Breakfast was included in the price. Location was a few miles from downtown, but there is a tram stop about 3 minutes from the hotel which took us right to the middle of old town. We parked on the street for free.
This 200 year old church is young compared to the churches downtown.
Prague escaped bombing during World War 2 and it's art deco flavor is seen all over town.
This tower was build in 1100AD. The city walls have since been torn down, but this was one of the old towers.
This is the John Lennon wall. It is a bit tricky to find, so grab a map and head south of Charles Bridge to Velkoprevorske Namesti. You'll find the wall and a great restaurant.
Back downtown to the main square and astronomical clock installed in 1410, it is the oldest running astronomical clock in the world.
Tyn church
St. Charles Bridge is a great spot for buying souvenirs, bridge entertainers, and photo-ops. No trip to Prague is complete without a stroll across this bridge, not to mention, it's how you get to the other side.
This is the Church of St. Mary Victorious--It holds the Infant of Prague a statue which is the reason for pilgrimage to the church. My mother in law, having heard about it her whole life was very excited to see it.
